Day 196 - Goodies, Gadgets & Games

It's been a month since we opened our doors here at 365 Days on a farm.

We have our beautiful new sign up by Onion Grove Mercantile.  We have stocked our store with not only 100% American Grown yarn, but also needles from Skacel, Lantern Moon, Kollage.

We have books, project bags, stitch markers, key chains, sheep note pads and lots of fiber for Spinning and felting. Felting needles and kits.

It feels good to fill the store with all the tools and fun things one comes to expect with a local yarn store. And the Fiber! Lots of yummy, 'got to have it for my own' Fiber.....We are currently planning our GRAND OPENING..and we will announce the date soon. In the meantime stop by, and say hello!

Our meetings for Eldridge Knitting Nook are still a great gathering. There's room for new members and all are welcome.Knitters, crocheters, spinners, felters, weavers, and any other fiber art.Wed 3-5 pm and Thurs 4-7 pm.

Next up, class schedules.... I will post the schedule as soon as it is complete.

Don't forget June 11th is World Wide Knit in Public Day and International Yarn Bombing Day! Weather permitting the store will host both. This weeks meeting will be a good time for planning. We will be providing refreshments on that Saturday and will plan our picnic in the Park for the event. There will be a drawing and other fun activities. See Tammy for more details.

It's been too long since we have mentioned chickens!!!!

Chanin brought in these adorable knitted egg holders.......I am trying to create a pattern...winging it!!!!

Pam made the most beautiful Potato Chip Scarf out of Mountain Meadow yarn.

Joanne is always eager to start a new project.

Brenda loves to knit baby items.

Sue has the festive personality of her hat!

Nancy makes the prettiest market bags.

Jeannie is always excited about her latest project, she has the patience to work with teeny tiny steel crochet hooks. Our group is so diverse!!!

Day 188 - The Great Unveiling

There's something tangible about seeing your dreams/inspirations in large print. And when that print is done artistically, it's priceless.

It was a defining moment for me, when Jen from Onion Grove Mercantile parked her truck in front of the store. I knew what treasure was hidden underneath the tan canvas; 365's Sign. I was silent, it was here, and although it may seem silly, it was my moment to reflect.

The first emotion to surface was gratitude.

My Uncle Gary once told me, "No man is an island." Although he meant it in more of a biblical sense, it hit home with me.

Spirituality comes in many forms, friends and family are just as vital.

Whether it is a brand new friendship happened by chance or a relationship that has weathered through storms together, close by or 1000 miles away, my spirit was touched by so many wonderful people. Moments and memories that are carried with us, in times of difficulty and triumphs.

It was just Jen, her son and myself there in the shop for my moment, but it felt crowded, because everyone I love and cherish was right there beside me.

I started to make a list of all those I appreciate and love, and the list kept growing and growing...it became a novel, so I opted out of the list and instead I shall tell everyone...Thank You, Thank You, Thank You ...damn, I am a lucky woman.

Thank you everyone!
I love you all!
