Day 184 - Downtown Davenport is flooded

Friday, after we closed 365 Days On a Farm for the day, we drove to Downtown Davenport, about 10 miles from our shop. I wanted to see the flooding I have been watching on the Internet. The Mississippi was definitely busting at the seams....(I heard the water has gone down since Friday)....besides I thought it would be fun to take pictures. ;) And it was.

The skybridge was really warm and cozy inside....

Looking out of the window on the Skybridge.....there's railroad tracks and a street under there!

Scott and John at the base of the Skywalk...not an exit anymore~!

Parts of Davenport may be flooded, but Spring is still beautiful!

Nope those aren't boats ......

Davenport is such a unique city....I love the old brick buildings....

Scott, John and I had dinner at Antonella's...the best Italian restaurant around...A great Friday evening!

Day 180 - A Day out at Chanin's Farm!!

A day of fun, fun and more fun. Everyone knows how I love to go play at other people's farms. Chanin's Farm was full of surprises and sweet babies. My good Friends Kristie Peterson and Drew went with me to take pics of the new arrivals.

There were so many wonderful critters to see. The baby chicks were so entertaining.

I think Lightning was smiling....he was certainly happy!!!
Kristie and two day old baby goat.
Chanin's baby goat 1 week old.

Day 179 - The Yarn Shop is closed today! Time for another adventure.

While spending a wonderful week in the Yarn Shop getting things spruced up and adding new products daily! I have spent some time reading all the wonderful blogs of people that I have met, or yet to meet. And there are spring babies everywhere. It's so new to me and exciting. But to the people that have been doing this for years.....they are just as excited, if not more than me. Okay, yes more than me....they are "their" animals, that they have been taking care of...part of the family, so to speak. So, I am off to find another adventure....not too far from my backyard......where? Well, I guess you will have to wait and see! I promise it will be well worth it!
And lot's of pics. Just a FYI.....I post about 5-10 or so pics....from each trip, but I take about 200-300 pics. You just get to see my favorites.

Day 174- Flowers from Miss Effie's Flower Farm

Spring's first flowers from Miss Effie's Flower Farm!

A sweet visit from a very busy Miss Effie. She took time out of her busy season to bring me a gift. The very first blooms from her garden. Now, most people would hang onto them with a tight grasp, but not Miss Effie! With a heart as big as her farm......she happily passed them to me. And after a nice chat ...she waved wildly with both hands in the air...."see you soon". And she was gone. I feel blessed to be surrounded by such loving wonderful people!

I have much to be thankful for! Thank you everyone!
